Reserva Conchal's greatest environmental accomplishment has been the protection of an additional 900 hectares (approx. 2,224 acres) of land whose primary purpose is not real estate development but the collection of water in its natural basin. By protecting this area and ensuring the quality of its water collection, Reserva Conchal is sustaining the water supply for the future of the surrounding communities and the beach resort itself. Developing in harmony with the natural environment, Reserva Conchal has set standards that go above and beyond national requirements:

Preserving 700 acres of forest corridor and 95 acres of bio-sensitive mangroves, including 24 acres of water reflection.
Leaving 50% of the property untouched by development.
Employing a ranger to protect the animals and natural surroundings.
Building 20 kms (approx. 12 miles) of trail systems for hiking and efficient firefighting accessibility to our residences.
Reducing water consumption by designing gardens for our condos and homes with indigenous plants that are accustomed to arid conditions.
Treating waste-water and reusing 85% for irrigation.
Collecting rainwater on the grounds for later irrigation.
Creating lagoons that attract local water birds.
Proposing and supporting environmental education programs for local community schools.
