An Inside Look at our Golf Course
Hole 1
PAR 4
Don’t be fooled by what appears to be an easy opening hole. Leave the driver in the bag, and use a fairway wood or long iron off the tee. A precise approach shot is required to avoid the ravine on two sides of the shallow green.
Hole 2
PAR 4
The fairway slopes right-to-left, favoring a draw tee shot that avoids out-of-bounds on the right. On the approach, play more club to clear the ravine, but stay below the hole for easier putting and chipping.
Hole 3
PAR 4
You will need your best drive here, aiming for the right side to gain extra yardage. Favor the right side with your approach and take an extra club to compensate for the uphill shot.
Hole 4
PAR 5
Favor the left side with your tee shot. Avoid the large tree on the left with your second shot, and try to get close to the green so that you may hit a higher approach shot to hold the ball on the shallow green.
Hole 5
PAR 3
This hole plays downhill, so you can hit less club and still clear the water. Balls landing to the left of the green may ricochet back onto the putting surface.
Hole 6
PAR 4
Aim your tee shot at the bunker on the left since the fairway slopes to the right toward the water and lateral hazard. Use more club on the approach shot to the green favoring the left side.
Hole 7
PAR 5
A bold tee ball over the trees on the left might allow you to get home in two with a heroic shot over the water. The safer course of action is to stay to the right while avoiding the 13 bunkers.
Hole 8
PAR 3
The severe slope of the green dictates a tee shot to the right where the ball feeds toward the hole. The ravine in front and to the left will catch errant shots. ricochet back onto the putting surface.
Hole 9
PAR 4
The fairway tends to get narrow in the landing area, with a bunker left and water right. The approach shot must clear the water, but there is a bailout area to the left of the green.
Hole 10
PAR 4
From the tee, aim toward the mound to the right corner of this dogleg. A ravine crosses the fairway 100 yards from the hole, and runs up the left side of a narrow and long green.
Hole 11
PAR 3
A precise long iron is required to reach the two-level, elevated green built into the hillside. The ravine in front should not be a problem.
Hole 12
PAR 4
Don’t be distracted by the view looking 100 feet down to the fairway from the elevated back tees. Avoid the out-of-bounds to the left, and favor the left side of the green with an approach shot using more club.
Hole 13
PAR 4
Hit it long, aiming at the bunker on the left side of the fairway since there is a ravine all the way down the right side. Favor the left side with your approach shot, and take plenty of club for this uphill shot to a shallow green.
Hole 14
PAR 4
The ideal placement off the tee is to the right side, avoiding the three well-placed bunkers. A precise approach shot with the correct club makes a birdie a possibility, but beware of the bunkers guarding the green.
Hole 15
PAR 3
An interesting tee shot to a well positioned green. Players will enjoy the views. This scenic hole is nestled within an amphitheater of dense Costa Rica tropical forest. Missing the
green to the right side “valley of sin” will leave little chance at par. Lots of noise from the surrounding hills, as it is a favorite hangout for “Howler Monkey’s” Get your camera ready!
Hole 16
PAR 5
A commanding vista off an elevated tee with distant ocean views. This dogleg par 5 hosts a double fairway feature that offers a variety of strategies to play. Avoid the bunker complex on second shots – they will only leave you with a very difficult approach.
Hole 17
PAR 3
An impressive hole that once again captures the Costa Rican golf experience. Considered one of the finest Par 3’s anywhere. This is a difficult shot all carry over water to a well protected green. One of our favorites!
Hole 18
PAR 5
This is a great risk-reward finishing hole,
allowing the brave — or the foolish — the chance to get home in two with another heroic fairway wood or long iron over the water. The safer play is again to the right. Pitch shots to the green must land on the front since the putting surface slopes away
